Sweden makes Legal Landmark (About)

Sweden has made legal history for itself, with the first trial of people for
"aggravated crime against relics." Basically, a group of five men illegally
dug up over 2000 silver coins from the island of Gotland, and then started
selling them, but attempts to offload a fragment of crucifix were discovered
and allowed the police to trace the damage back to the men. The monetary value
of the find is around $280,000, but the value of these Viking era artefacts to
historians and archaeologists is great. According to this report, the five
face up to four years in prison.
