International Museum Day (About)

International Museum Day was establised by the International Council of
Museums, ICOM, in 1977. It usually takes place around May 18 of any given
year. Its purpose is to encourage visits to museums and showcase the programs
or collections in all kinds of venues: art, science and historic. Admission is
usually free on IMD.
