Battle of Sayler's Creek (About)

The Battle of Sayler's Creek (Sailor's Creek) was fought April 6, 1865.
Retreating from Petersburg, part of Gen. Robert E. Lee's army was engaged by
pursuing Union forces along Sayler's Creek. In a day of fighting, Union forces
killed, wounded, and captured 7,700 men and drove the Confederates from the
field.
